doctors appointment and ultrasound today!

Hey there,

It was a big baby day for us! We had a 9:30 doctors appointment where I got the numbers from my 3 hour glucose test. For my original test I had a glucose reading of 152 and they consider the max for normal to be 135, so that was unquestioningly high. For the three hour test my Fasting level was 80 (95 is considered the max for normal). My 1 hour draw was 161 (180 is the max for normal), my 2 hour draw was 133 (155 being the max for normal) and my 3 hour draw was 94 (with 140 being the max for normal). So that was fantastic news. Then we got to hear bean's heartbeat which came in at 140 perfect sleeping beats per minute! The midwife was pleased. She also felt around and discovered our little nudger to be head down (WOO-HOO.) When she measured my belly I was still measuring 2 weeks ahead (I am nothing if not consistent!)

Then at 10 today we had our last ultrasound to be sure that my placenta moved out of the way (which it has!). Rob and I were not overly pleased with our technician but it is so neat to see the little one anyway. Our very first view of bean was a full face shot where you could see her/his open eyes and perfect face. SO CUTE!! She took a ton of measurements and said our little one is very healthy and the placenta is no longer a concern. She also said baby bean is weighing in at 3 pounds 15 ounces at the moment which puts him/her in the 75 percentile. So fun!! As bean was awake for the ultrasound his/her heart rate kicked up to 150 beats per minute. And bean's gender is still a mystery. Sorry guys you need to wait 9 more weeks for that information!

SO all is well here. We (and by we I really mean Rob) has sketched almost all the animals on the walls and we purchased the paint for the murals last night. We will keep you updated as progress is made!

I will leave you with 2 "not- so- good- but- they- are- all- we- got" pictures from today:

This is the little noodle's face looking straight on at us.
