It certainly has been a crazy week with our little one! But he is officially a week old today and I thought I should take a moment to recap this week's adventures.
After Jimmy was born on Saturday we invited our family to come and visit so we could show off our little son. Grammie Lindsey and Grandpa Kendall came up with Aunty Tracey and Aunty Chris. We also had Grammie Marj and Grandpa Brian join the party with Aunty Chrissy. And the party certainly would not have been complete without Sean, Jess and baby Nya to complete our birthday party.
On Sunday we had another round of visitors to see our little one. Super Aunt Mary and Super Uncle Mike came up with cousin Courtnie. Grammie Marj and Grandpa Brian and Aunty Chrissy returned for the day two festivities. Erin, Chris and little Addi came too. Laura and Ana joined in as well as Matt, Bonnie and Baby Bennie. It was a crazy Sunday in our room. It was also the first time Mommy got out of bed in a few days and it felt good to be at least some what up and about.
On Monday we had Jimmy's first Snow Storm. It snowed about 15 fluffy inches during the day on Monday and that kept all of our visitors away for the day so it was our first time together as a family for a full day. Our only visitors were the doctors, nurses, lactation consultants and room services providers who came in and out to make sure our family was healthy. It was a very peaceful and wonderful day. However, we had a tough night with Jimmy and he was up almost all night with Mommy. It was kind of a long night.
On Tuesday it was time to go home. It was a slow process and Mommy even got a nap in during the afternoon. We made it home by four just in time for more company Grammie Marj and Grandpa Brian and Aunty Chrissy met us at the hospital and thoroughly documented our trip to the car. (Unfortunately, I do not have those pictures yet) Tim and Jamie and John and Kelly came over for a visit in the evening. Jimmy was very fussy again and not up for company but everyone seemed to have fun anyway.

On Wednesday, Mommy, Daddy and Jimmy hung out on the couch all day and simply enjoyed family time. Our very good friends Sean, Jess and Nya came over with baked ziti for dinner and a visit! It was a wonderful time and Jimmy slept through most of it. It was a great day but unfortunately it did nothing to help our sleeping at night problem. Daddy took the first shift and Mommy took the second and Jimmy just hung out all wide eyed and bushy tailed.
Thursday was our first outing. We had a doctors appointment in the morning for Jimmy's first well baby check. He was very healthy and it was exciting to get out of the house on our own and see the world. Mommy was worried that Jimmy would hate the car (seeing as we spend so much time in it) but he falls right asleep as soon as start moving. We headed to the store after our doctors appointment. We had to get Jimmy some clothes as we were not expecting such a big baby and did not have enough clothes in the right size. When we finished we all went out to the Seedling Cafe for a late lunch. It was delicious and Jimmy slept the entire time!
On Friday, Grammie Lindsey and Aunt Chris came over for a visit in the afternoon. It was a beautiful day out so we took Jimmy for a walk around the block and he got to meet one of our neighbors (whom Mommy and Daddy just met while taking a labor walk just about a week before). Friday night, Jimmy had a successful evening in the cradle and slept in good three or four hour chunks. Mommy was very excited to get some sleep!
On Saturday, (HAPPY ONE WEEK BIRTHDAY LITTLE GUY) We took a family trip to Nubble Lighthouse in York, Maine. We got some great pictures and Jimmy got to feel the ocean with his hands. We all went out to a late lunch at York Harbor Inn. That evening Uncle Pat and Bianca came over to meet little Jimmy and visit with Mommy and Daddy. Once again Jimmy slept the entire day making for a rough night for Daddy (who let mommy sleep!!)

Finally, to round out our first week together I will mention our ski trip to Ragged Mountain on Sunday. Jimmy and Mommy had a great day in the lodge and Daddy had fun with John skiing down the slopes on a beautiful Sunny 50 degree day! We were even able to get Jimmy his first season pass for skiing! It was a great day. Jimmy also had another great night of sleep waking only to get fed or changed every three or four hours. Daddy got to sleep through the whole night!

What a great first week we have had!
This is our Day 1 picture with bear
